Oko is a civil engineer with about twenty (20) years’ successful work experience in downstream oil & gas infrastructure construction, petroleum storage facilities management and projects consultancy.
Oko joined PETROSOL in July, 2021 and tasked with responsibility of raising higher the quality of PETROSOL’s retail outlets infrastructure. He has over the years demonstrated competence and professionalism in the various roles he has held.
He was until recently the Projects Manager (Civil) of Meridian Logistics and Engineering, a firm executing a gas pipeline installation project at Atuabo, in the Western Region.
Oko previously worked with Chase Petroleum Ghana Ltd, a leading Bulk Oil Distribution Company (BDC), spanning about 10 years in various roles. He served as the Project Engineer in charge of supervising the rehabilitation of the GOIL Takoradi Depot as well as revamping the Kumasi BOST Depot Operations for Chase Petroleum.
He later became the Terminal Manager and Head of the Management Team of United Storage Company Ltd (USCL), a joint venture petroleum depot in Takoradi, owned by GOIL and Chase Petroleum. Prior to working with Chase Petroleum, Oko served as the Ag. Head of the Operations & Engineering Department of Oando Ghana Ltd after having previously served as the Civil Engineer of the same company.
Before joining Oando, he had also previously served as the Resident & Consulting Structural/Civil Engineer for Strescon Engineering Consultancy Ltd; Consulting Structural/Civil Engineer with Andam Chartered Engineers Ltd; and Assistant Administrator & Teaching Assistant, Dean’s Office, School of Engineering, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Oko holds BSc Civil Engineering degree from the KNUST and is a Certified Project Management Professional as well as an External Examiner in Project Management at the Institute of Distance Learning, KNUST. He is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering and also a member of the Project Management Institute.
He has attended several courses locally and internationally, some of which are: Tanks and Terminals Operation and Maintenance; Maintenance of Above Ground Atmospheric Storage Tanks; Tank Management and Assessment; Lubrication Technology & Management; and Environmental Health & Safety Quality & Management Systems.
